While visiting Aspen for a wedding, I had an opportunity to take a walk outside the town. There are places within walking distance that are peaceful. Here are a few wintertime photos.
Just below the town is a space called the John Denver sanctuary. There are a number of rocks engraved with lyrics that he wrote.
I won't tell you how many photos I took of this ice formation! One will undoubtedly turn up in a quilt.

I didn't know about the John Denver sanctuary. What a beautiful place! And no matter where you are, a blue sky and sunshine make the perfect complement to pristine snow!
